Bill eliminating disclosure of campaign donor’s employer to get hearing
Among the items covered in yesterday’s E-Lert was one dealing with the need for improved disclosure of election financing. Some Wisconsin legislators want to go in exactly the opposite direction. A proposal that would blind voters to the financial interests of campaign donors will receive a public hearing by a Senate committee on Thursday. The Democracy Campaign will be there to testify against the bill.

Another ethics complaint filed against Gableman
A new complaint alleging judicial misconduct has been filed against state Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman, this one by the group 9to5 Milwaukee which defended that city’s sick leave ordinance. Attached to the group’s complaint is an opinion from a national legal ethics expert that is well worth taking the time to read.
