WISCONSIN DEMOCRACY CAMPAIGN E-LERT

Dennis Troha, a wealthy southeast Wisconsin businessman who was leading the effort to locate a casino in Kenosha, was indicted yesterday by a federal grand jury on charges that he used family members to launder money for the purposes of making campaign contributions in excess of Wisconsin's $10,000 limit on donations to candidates for governor.

Troha and his family were the biggest financial supporters of Governor Jim Doyle's campaigns in both 2002 and 2006.

For more information and perspective on the criminal indictment and the donations in question, see our latest Big Money Blog.
