WISCONSIN DEMOCRACY CAMPAIGN E-LERTTomorrow's hearing on three reform bills by a Senate committee will be held in room 201 Southeast in the Capitol, not room 220 Southeast as we reported in last Friday's E-Lert.
The Senate Committee on Campaign Finance Reform, Rural Issues and Information Technology will be taking public testimony on Senate Bill 77, a truth-in-campaigning measure requiring full disclosure of special interest electioneering; Senate Bill 171, the Impartial Justice bill calling for public financing of state Supreme Court races; and Senate Bill 170, the Judicial Right to Know bill requiring notification of parties in lawsuits of the Supreme Court rule regarding conflicts of interest and judicial recusal and their right to access the statement of economic interests that each judge must file with the state.
The Democracy Campaign will be testifying in support of all three proposals.
