Recall: Oath • Spending
This is a political action committee used to make independent expenditures to support Democratic candidates in Wisconsin elections by the Washington D.C.-based American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. The PAC was last active in the 2006 general elections when it spent nearly $330,000 to support Democratic Governor Jim Doyle's reelection.
Fall Elections
The group intends to make independent expenditures in the open 17th Assembly District Democratic primary in Milwaukee.
Recall Elections
The group made independent expenditures to support Democratic candidate Tom Barrett in his unsuccessful effort to defeat Republican Governor Scott Walker in a June 5 recall election. Walker, the lieutenant governor and four GOP Senate seats face recall challenges because of the governor's successful plan last year to restrict public employee collective bargaining rights.
