OathSpending

This independent disbursement committee is sponsored by Wisconsin Family Action, a conservative group that opposes gay marriage and domestic partnerships.

The committee originally reported independent expenditures made in support of two Republican candidates who were both defeated in their respective primaries. Senate candidate John Steitz last ran in the 2011 recall election against Senator Robert Wirch (D-Pleasant Prairie). He faced former Republican Senator Van Wanggaard for the open seat in the 21st Senate District where the incumbent, John Lehman, was running for lieutenant governor. Lehman defeated Wanggaard in one of the  2012 recall elections. The committee also made independent expenditures in support of Randall Melchert who unsuccessfully sought to fill the state treasurer vacancy.

In all, the group reported spending in support of Republicans in races for governor, state treasurer and seven legislative seats.

Last active election: 2013
