TAKE ACTION
Three Things You Can Do. . .
| 1. | CONTACT GOVERNOR JIM DOYLE
AND YOUR STATE LEGISLATORS AND TELL THEM YOU WANT CLEAN GOVERNMENT AND
REAL DEMOCRACY - AND THAT MEANS GIVING POWER
TO THE VOTER
Urge the governor, your state senator and state representative to support - and act on - the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign's five-step program to restore democracy in Wisconsin. Specifically, tell them you want: 1) full disclosure of all election-related activities; 2) campaign finance reform providing public financing of state election campaigns that levels the playing field for candidates and limits special interest influence; 3) a politically independent authority to rigorously enforce ethics and campaign finance laws; 4) an independent commission to draw voting districts; and 5) free choice voting that allows the true preferences of voters to be reflected on the ballot. Contact your state legislators by calling the toll-free legislative hotline at 1-800-362-9472(266-9960 in Madison). Call the governor's office at 608-266-1212. Governor Doyle's mailing address is: Governor James Doyle, 115 East, State Capitol, Madison, WI 53702. To write to your state senator, the address is P.O. Box 7882, Madison, WI 53707-7882. If your state representative's name begins with the letters A through L, use P.O. Box 8952, Madison, WI 53708. For Assembly members whose names begin with M through Z, use P.O. Box 8953, Madison, WI 53708. If you don't know your legislators, click here. To e-mail Governor Doyle, click here. For an e-mail directory for senators, click here.
