Madison Public School principal Elizabeth Burmaster first elected Superintendent of Public Instruction in April, 2001 and was reelected in April 2005. Burmaster faced three challengers in the February non-partisan primary and her general election opponent was Representative Gregg Underheim of Oshkosh, the incumbent for Assembly District 54. Human Rights League PAC ($1,185), MTI Voters ($1,913), TAA-PAC ($372) and WEAC PAC ($343,735) all made independent expenditures favoring Elizabeth Burmaster. |
