Senator Kapanke was first elected to the Senate in 2004. He was unopposed in the primary and faced Democratic opposition in the general election. NRA Political Victory Fund ($1,383), Volunteers for Agriculture ($512) Wisconsin Right to Life PAC ($489) and Working Families PAC ($25,120) made independent expenditures favoring Senator Kapanke. Advancing Wisconsin ($15,361), Fair Wisconsin PAC ($128) and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin ($1,513) made independent expenditures supporting his opponent.
