2000 Campaign Finance Summary
* Senator Meyer was first elected to the Assembly in 1992 and to the Senate in 2000.

* He was unopposed in the primary and faced Republican opposition in the general election.

* Coulee Region United Educators ($1,431), Independent Citizens for Democracy ($330,238), LaCrosse Education Assn ($435), Planned Parenthood ($775), Sierra Club WI Education Committee ($1,191), WEAC ($277,581), and WI Nurses Assn ($75) made independent expenditures benefiting Meyer. Building A Better WI ($12,971), Concerned Business & Industry ($6,666), Pro-Life WI Victory Fund ($776), Volunteers for Agriculture ($1,510) and WI Right to Life ($1,141) made independent expenditures favoring his opponent.
