People Legislature's Rally for Ethics Reform

More than 150 People's Legislature members picketed in front of the Assembly chamber on May 2nd demanding an up-or-down vote on ethics reform legislation.

Participants in the impromptu protest also filled the gallery overlooking the Assembly chamber and at one point unfurled a large banner saying "Clean Up Your Act...Vote on Senate Bill 1."

Reportedly the pro-reform crowd was so loud that a legislative committee working on a constitutional amendment to limit taxing and spending adjourned because members could not hear each other.

The Assembly proved just as incapable of hearing the protest as it voted against bringing Senate Bill 1 to the floor.
