Voces de la Frontera is a Milwaukee-based immigrant rights group, new to independent spending in state elections this year. They provide legal, employment, and citizenship skills training to immigrant and low-wage workers.
VFA primarily supported Democrats from Milwaukee and Racine area congressional and state legislative offices. It supported Chris Larson, the successful primary challenger to the Democratic incumbent in the 7th Senate District, and open primary candidates JoCasta Zamarripa in Milwaukee's 8th Assembly District and Diane Hesselbein in the 77th Assembly District. The first two won their primaries and went on to when their seats in November's general election.
This organization is registered with the Government Accountability Board following the January 2010 U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. FEC as a corporation making independent disbursements in the Fall 2010 state elections.
