MoveOn.org registered this political action committee in March 2011 in response to the turmoil and subsequent recall efforts precipitated by union-busting measures in Republican Governor Scott Walker's budget-repair bill first introduced in February and passed in March after some controversial parliamentary maneuvers by the Republican majority.
MoveOn.org was formed in 1998 in opposition to President Bill Clinton's impeachment. Since then, it has supported numerous Democratic candidates and issues it considers progressive.
In June 2011 the PAC filed an oath of independent expenditures declaring its opposition to all Republican recall candidates.
MoveOn.org also registered as a corporation for the purpose of making further independent expenditures.
It reported no independent expenditures.
