Oath • Spending
This corporation was newly created in 2012 by the Wisconsin Realtors Association to make independent expenditures supporting Republican candidates in the 35th
Assembly District races. All three northern districts were held by Republicans but generally viewed as competitive for Democrats. The group last made independent expenditures in fall 2004
through its political action committee and also spent undisclosed sums on issue ads. RPAC Wisconsin
is consistently among the largest PAC contributors in legislative and statewide elections.
Among the Assembly candidates the group supported was incumbent Republican Representative Roger Rivard of Rice Lake who drew public fire
for a comment he made about a sexual assault case. Rivard said his father had made the comment - "some girls rape easy" - to him when he was young. Rivard lost his reelection contest.
This organization is registered with the Government Accountability Board following the January 2010 U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. FEC as a corporation making independent disbursements.
