Fall: Oath • Spending
This is a corporation used by the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) to make independent expenditures in Wisconsin’s election for attorney general. DAGA is a 527 group, which may raise and spend unlimited amounts of money from any source to spend on elections.
The group first reported spending on television advertising to oppose the reelection of GOP Attorney General Brad Schimel late in October. Schimel faces Democrat Josh Kaul on the Nov. 6 ballot. Most of the group’s advertising is slated to run during the two weeks leading up to the election.
The group sponsored an ad that accused Schimel of cutting plea deals in numerous cases that resulted in light sentences for sexual predators.
This organization is registered with the Wisconsin Ethics Commission as an independent expenditure committee following the January 2010 U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. FEC.
