Bangin' for Reform

A big thank you to all who participated in yesterday’s "Storm for Reform" rally by the People’s Legislature. The lobbyists and the lawmakers who work for them all are paid to be at the Capitol. But it’s a whole ’nother thing to take a day off work, skip a class or leave an infant with a babysitter to tend to the labors of citizenship. Bangin’ for Reform

You can hardly call it work, though, because by the looks of it those who took part in yesterday’s rally had a blast. Fun is in short supply in politics these days, but not in the People’s Legislature.

For those who couldn’t be there, there is video courtesy of On the Earth Productions here. Wisconsin Radio Network also has posted 22 minutes worth of audio here (scroll down and click on AUDIO: Capitol rally).

After the rally, participants showered the governor’s office with flyers like this calling on him to keep his promise to call the Legislature into special session this fall to act on campaign finance reform. You can add your voice by printing out and mailing in one of the individual petitions to the governor. Or you can call the governor’s office at 608-266-1212 or go here to send an e-mail urging the governor to call the special session.
