In this update:
1. Partisans flood money into Supreme Court race
2. More Ziegler conflicts of interest surface
The two finalists for the open seat on the state Supreme Court keep insisting they are involved in a nonpartisan race and each claims to have no partisan identity. But while the candidates are bending over backwards to keep the voters in the dark about their political leanings, their paying customers are not having any trouble figuring out that Linda Clifford is the choice of Democrats and Annette Ziegler is the Republicans’ candidate. A just-released Democracy Campaign analysis of the candidates’ major contributors shows this just might be the most partisan "nonpartisan" race Wisconsin has ever seen.
The Wisconsin State Journal broke another story over the weekend identifying new examples of financial conflicts of interest Ziegler has had in cases she’s presided over as a circuit court judge. The new revelations add to the list of instances where Ziegler ignored judicial ethics rules regarding conflicts of interest.
