A series of three public hearings have been scheduled by the Assembly Elections and Campaign Reform Committee to get input on campaign finance reform. With votes promised on Supreme Court election reform this fall and a new rule requiring full disclosure of special interest campaigning and restoring meaningful contribution limits temporarily on hold pending the outcome of a U.S. Supreme Court case, the committee is looking ahead to the development of legislation reforming campaign finance laws governing state legislative races as well as elections for statewide offices.
The first hearing will be held simultaneously in Green Bay and Madison, via teleconferencing, on Thursday, October 8 at 10 a.m. For more details on this hearing, go here.
