1. Veiled groups sling slime in state legislative elections
2. Support building for action on phony issue ads
Voters across the state are enduring smear campaigns waged by cloaked special interest groups intent on controlling the state Legislature. That’s the subject of our latest Big Money Blog. It’s also the subject of an editorial that appeared in today’s Green Bay Press-Gazette.
There’s much more about what groups are doing the smearing and who’s behind them in the Hijacking Campaign 2008 section of our web site.
Growing awareness of the blight of phony "issue ads" in state elections is leading to more and more public calls for reform. The Appleton Post-Crescent is the latest to add its voice to the chorus calling for the state Government Accountability Board to take action.
