Citizen vigil to kick off next Thursday
The kickoff of the Citizen Vigil for the Greater Good is a week away. We hope you can join us in front of the bust of Fighting Bob La Follette on the Capitol’s first floor rotunda at 10 a.m. next Thursday as we launch the vigil.
Volunteers are now registering to continue the vigil starting on the next scheduled legislative session day on Tuesday, February 22. To sign up to participate, go here.
We will be asking volunteers with cell phones to phone in eyewitness reports of what they are seeing and hearing, and we will be posting real-time updates @wisdc on Twitter as well as on the vigil’s Facebook page. You can go there now and become a fan of the vigil and help us spread the word. And you can check the Twitter feeds and Facebook posts when the Legislature is in session as volunteers standing vigil serve as your eyes and ears at the Capitol and comment on what lawmakers are up to.
Please take a few minutes right now to use our online registration system to become part of this corps of citizen observers and activists.
Following the money in Campaign 2011
We just updated our searchable database of campaign contributors again this week to include new records of donations to candidates for state Supreme Court through December 31. And we've added a Campaign 2011 feature to wisdc.org to monitor campaign fundraising and spending in the high court race.
