Thank you to all who responded to our recent appeal for a year-end gift in support of the Democracy Campaign’s work. We are most grateful for the support. If you haven’t yet responded, please consider making a special year-end contribution. All gifts to the Democracy Campaign are fully tax-deductible.
Thanks to people like you, we follow the money. We connect the dots between all that money donors shower on politicians and the impact it has on decisions made at the Capitol. We make investigative journalism on money in politics possible. We empower citizens to push back against those who aim to buy off our elected representatives and take ownership of our government. We show the way toward reform.
Our efforts prompted the Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council and Society of Professional Journalists to name the Democracy Campaign the “Citizen Openness Advocate of the Year” for 2012. In honoring WDC, the groups said: “No one has done more than this nonpartisan watchdog group to hold public officials accountable by demanding transparency, not only in campaign financing but in the operations of government, and no one has taken more heat for it, especially this year.”
Doing what we do requires resources, and that’s why we ask you now to consider making a tax-deductible year-end gift to the Democracy Campaign.
Thank you for your consideration of a holiday gift to the Democracy Campaign. All of us here at WDC wish you and yours a very happy holiday.
P.S. If you haven’t already done so, I hope you will take a look at our annual report. And I hope you will take pride in the excellent work that you help make possible. Please take a few minutes right now to help us keep working for clean, open and honest government and elections where people matter more than money by making a special year-end, tax-deductible gift.
