Justice Bradley was first appointed to a vacancy on the Supreme Court by Governor Scott Walker in October 2015. Governor Walker had previously appointed her to fill vacancies on the Milwaukee County Circuit Court in 2012 and the Wisconsin Court of Appeals in May 2015. She survived a three-way primary and faced Judge Joanne Kloppenburg in the April 2016 election. Kloppenburg had narrowly lost the 2011 Supreme Court election to the incumbent, Justice David Prosser. The Republican State Leadership Committee - Judicial Fairness Initiative ($114,049) made independent expenditures favoring Justice Bradley. The Greater Wisconsin Committee Independent Exependiture Fund ($107,323) and WEAC Region 3 PAC ($2,421) made independent expenditures in favor of her opponent. The Wisconsin Alliance for Reform (estimated $2.3 million) spent undisclosed sums on "issue ads" in support of Justice Bradley. The Greater Wisconsin Committee (estimated $600,000) spent undisclosed sums favoring her opponent. |
