HELP OVERTURN CITIZENS UNITED and BUILD ELECTION CAMPAIGN INTEGRITY
Join the national movement to help overturn the disastrous U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. FEC (2010), which stated that corporations can spend unlimited amounts of money to support (or trash) specific candidates. Twenty-three states are already on board for amending the U.S. Constitution to proclaim that corporations aren’t persons and money isn’t speech. The amendment will help us get the corrupting big money out of politics. Let’s bring Wisconsin on board!
>> Contact and tell your legislators to champion a resolution introduced in 2025 as Senate Joint Resolution 38 and Assembly Joint Resolution 42. The joint resolution places a question on the nearest Fall statewide ballot to ask the people if Congress should propose an amendment to overturn Citizens United v. FEC and related cases. Note that this resolution is part of the Campaign Integrity package of reforms.
>> Contact and tell your legislators to champion these campaign finance reform bills reintroduced in 2023 in the Campaign Integrity package that will promote campaign accountability, transparency, and integrity by, in part, banning corporations from donating to political parties, reducing by half the total amount of money individuals may contribute to candidates, and forcing dark money groups to disclose who their donors are.
