L & C Coalition is a dark money organization active in in the 2025 Wisconsin State Supreme Court election as an unregistered independent disbursement committee. The committee operates from a Columbus, Ohio address that multiple sources (here and here, for example) have identified as that of a residential condominium. Online legal directory Avvo.com associates the address with a veteran attorney in general practice. As an unregistered committee, L & C Coalition is only legally required to provide the state with its name, an address, and an account of its campaign spending activity within 60 days of the April 1st election.
Toward the end of the first week in March, the committee reported spending $100,000 on radio ads to support Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Brad Schimel against Dane County Circuit Judge Susan Crawford for an open seat on the state’s highest court. Liberals won a 4-3 majority on the officially nonpartisan court in the 2023 election. The election of Schimel, who served a four-year term as state attorney general as a Republican, would flip control back to conservatives.
This organization is an unregistered independent expenditure committee that is required to report any such spending done within 60 days of a primary or an election to the Wisconsin Ethics Commission per Chapter 11, Subchapter X of Wisconsin Statutes.
