This is a Washington, D.C.-based organization that was organized in 2014 and works with state-based groups throughout the country to advance numerous Democratic causes, including worker rights, immigration, racial and economic justice, gerrymandering, and voting rights, among others.
In 2018 the organization reported independent expenditures in the fall and spring supreme court elections.
Fall
After Labor Day this group first reported spending on brochures to support Democrats Tony Evers for governor and Mandela Barnes for lieutenant governor in the November election. Subsequent spending was on canvassing costs. In January 2019 it reported spending for brochures on behalf of Josh Kaul, the Democratic candidate for attorney general.
Spring
About a week before the April 3 spring elections in Wisconsin, the group filed paperwork to sponsor outside electioneering activities in support of Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Rebecca Dallet. Dallet, a Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge, faced Sauk County Circuit Judge Michael Screnock for the open seat on the high court.
This organization is an unregistered independent expenditure committee that is required to report any such spending done within 60 days of a primary or an election to the Wisconsin Ethics Commission per Chapter 11, Subchapter X of Wisconsin Statutes.
