One of the registered agents for this organization is George Meyer, DNR Secretary under Republican Governor Tommy Thompson and currently the executive director of the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation, a pro-conservation, pro-hunting organization. It is an affiliate of the National Wildlife Federation.
The Sportsmen did not report any independent expenditures.
This organization is registered with the Government Accountability Board following the January 2010 U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. FEC as a corporation making independent disbursements.
