Little is known for certain about the Justice Project Action. An organization by that name contributed to a 527 group backing Democratic candidates in the 2024 Michigan State Supreme Court election, Justice for All – Michigan, and distributed “nonpartisan voter guides” about the candidates. One of the addresses associated with the Justice Project Action matches the Washington, D.C. address of the Justice Project Education Fund and the Justice Project, which runs the fund, reported making an $80,000 contribution to the Justice Project Action in 2024. The Justice Project Action Fund runs a website called Wisconsin Decides that it registered in December 2024 but any more information is unavailable on domain search sites. Since the time this page was first posted, the Justice Project has reported making independent expenditures in this year's high court election making it more than likely that Justice Project Action is also run by the Justice Project.
The Justice Project Action is responsible for a “nonpartisan voter guide” in the 2025 Wisconsin State Supreme Court election that compares the two candidates based on their endorsements and their relative positions on abortion, health care and the pardons for felons. The mailer includes a QR code that takes the user to the Wisconsin Decides website. The guide avoids making an explicit endorsement of either candidate. (Click here for the mailer. Dane County Circuit Court Judge Susan Crawford faces Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Brad Schimel in the April 1st election for an open seat on the state’s highest court. Liberals have enjoyed a 4-3 majority on the court since the 2023 election, but the election of Schimel, a former Republican state attorney general, would deliver control back to conservatives.
