CFC PAC is an independent expenditure committee run by the Milwaukee-based City Forward Collective (CFC) whose self-professed mission is to ensure that all Milwaukee students have access to high-quality schools, a mission which includes support for charter schools. CFC PAC first registered with the state in February 2025 and supported challenger Brittany Kinser in that spring's election for State Superintendent of Public Instruction, an officially nonpartisan election. The group has a conduit that has made contributions to both Republican and Democrats but has tended to favor the former.
The second Monday in July, CFC PAC first reported spending $10,000 for online advertising to support two Milwaukee Democratic incumbents, Rep. Sylvia Ortiz- Velez of the 8th Assembly and Rep. Priscilla Prado of the 9th. Both face challengers in the August 11th Democratic primary and, should they win, will face Republican opposition in the November 3rd general election.
The third weekend in July, the PAC reported spending a $1,000 for newpaper ads supporting Prado and Ortiz-Velez.
A week before the primary, it reported spending nearly $8,300 for mailers backing Prado and Ortiz-Velez.
The group first reported spending in the Democratic primary for governor just four days before the August 11th election. It reported spending over $99,150 for a mailer to support Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley. Crowley is one of seven candidates on the Democratic primary ballot seeking to replace outgoing Democratic incumbent Gov. Tony Evers, although three had already dropped out of the race by August.
The day before the August primary, it reported spending $3,000 for online advertising to oppose Rep. Francesca Hong in the Democratic gubernatorial primary.
The day of the primary, CFC PAC reported spending over $2,200 for phone calls/texts and newspaper ads to support the incumbents in the 8th and 9th Assembly District Democratic primaires. It also reported spending about $220 for phone calls/texts to support the challenger in the 12th Assembly District Democratic primary. With the exception of Ortiz-Velez in the 8th, the incumbents won.
