We are in treacherous waters right now. Joe Biden has been elected president, and Donald Trump refuses to accept the results.
Trump is being able to get away with this because of his shameless enablers who sit in positions of power, but cower before the President.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is the most disgraceful of all, claiming there will be a “smooth transition to a second Trump term.”
But he has competition from the likes of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Sen. Ted Cruz, among many others.
And here in Wisconsin, Trump has his own shameless enablers.
Sen. Ron Johnson, who has been rehearsing for years to be top Trump suck-up, was asked whether he had congratulated Biden yet. Johnson’s response: "No. There’s nothing to congratulate him about."
Then there’s Speaker Robin Vos, who has empowered a committee to “ immediately review how the election was administered.” Mentioning “concerns surfacing about mail-in ballot dumps and voter fraud,” he called into question “whether the vote was fair and legitimate.”
On that committee sits State Rep. Joe Sanfelippo, of New Berlin, who went much farther, saying the results of the election should actually be nullified.
"You either have to toss this election out and have a whole new election, or we have our delegates to the Electoral College vote for the person they think legitimately should have won," Sanfelippo told WISN-TV.
Toss out the election?!?
