Horrible Ruling on Drop Boxes

So a rightwing judge named Michael Bohren down in Waukesha County ruled the other day that we can’t use drop boxes for our absentee ballots here in Wisconsin anymore.

Instead, we got to drop the ballots off at the clerk’s office or put them in the U.S. mail.

The irony is that those blue U.S. postal boxes aren’t locked or under video surveillance like the drop boxes are so the judge is forcing people to deliver their absentee ballots in a less secure way.

And not just that, according to the judge, it’s now illegal for me to take my wife’s absentee ballot along with my own and put it in the blue postal box. She’s got to do it herself.

I can’t even take her ballot out to my own mailbox. Again, she’s got to do it herself.

But what if she’s disabled?

This is a crazy decision, and unless this it’s overturned, it’s going to make it much harder for people to vote by absentee ballot, which 2 million Wisconsinites did in the November 2020 elections.

But hey, that’s the Republican strategy
