Senator Moulton was elected to the Assembly in 2004, lost in 2008 and was first elected to the Senate in 2010. He was unopposed in the primary and defeated the Democratic incumbent in the general election. Wisconsin Right to Life PAC ($72) made independent expenditures favoring Senator Moulton. Advancing Wisconsin Inc. ($53,740), Building a Stronger Wisconsin PAC ($11,174), Corn PAC ($480), Fair Wisconsin PAC ($5), Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin Inc. ($2,6002), WEAC PAC ($355,807) and Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters PAC ($4,541) made independent expenditures supporting his opponent. American Federation for Children, Jobs First Coalition and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce spent undisclosed amounts on "issue ads" supporting Senator Moulton.
