Senator Moulton was elected to the Assembly in 2004, lost in 2008, first elected to the Senate in 2010 and reelected in a June 2012 recall election. Recall elections were held in four Senate districts in 2012 including Senator Moulton's district. There was no Republican primary and he faced Democratic opposition in the recall election. National Rifle Assocation of America ($513), NRA Political Victory Fund ($364), Republican State Leadership Committee Inc. ($409,386), Volunteers for Agriculture ($29,611) and Wisconsin Right to Life PAC ($1,058) made independent expenditures favoring Senator Moulton. DLCC Wisconsin PAC ($146,411), Greater Wisconsin Political Independent Expenditure Fund ($562,905), Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin Political Fund ($3,108), Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin Inc. ($11,164), We Are Wisconsin Political Fund ($203,972), Wisconsin Education Assocation Council ($1,215), Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters IE Committee ($36,963) and Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters PAC ($809) made independent expenditures supporting his opponent. Center for Union Facts, Club for Growth Wisconsin and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce spent undisclosed amounts on "issue ads" supporting Senator Moulton. Greater Wisconsin Committee spent undisclosed amounts on "issue ads" in opposition. |
