Representative Tranel was first elected to the Assembly in 2010. He won a two-way primary and faced Democratic opposition in the general election. Citizens for Southwest Wisconsin ($2,490), Corn PAC ($424), Midwest Victory Team ($677), Volunteers for Agriculture ($10,720) and Wisconsin Right to Life O.M.I.D. ($8,646) made independent expenditures favoring Representative Tranel. Greater Wisconsin Political Independent Expenditure Fund ($7,500) made independent expenditures supporting his opponent.
