Representative Kulp was first elected to the Assembly in a November 2013 special election. He won a four-way primary and faced Democratic and Independent opposition in the special election. Jobs First Coalition Political Fund ($13,500), NRA Political Victory Fund ($2,408), Wisconsin Family Action Inc - 1.11 Account ($11.05) and Wisconsin Right to Life O.M.I.D. made independent expenditures favoring Representative Kulp. American Federation for Children Action Fund IE Committee ($45,095) made independent expenditures supporing one of his primary opponents. Wisconsin Liberty Movement ($984) made independent expenditures in opposition to his nomination in the primary but did not indicate support for a particular candidate.
