Fair Wisconsin advocates for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights and fairness policies in Wisconsin. The organization first formed a state political action committee (PAC) to make independent expenditures in the 2007 Supreme Court Elections in support of Linda Clifford following its formation as a referendum group in 2006 to campaign against the constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage and civil unions in Wisconsin. The state PAC last made independent expenditures in the 2010 partisan elections. Later, it operated as a state-registered independent expenditure committee in the 2014 and 2018 fall elections, the latter the last time it was active in state-level elections.
Fair Wisconsin Federal PAC is a federally registered committee operating as an unregistered committee in the state. This means it is only required to report independent expenditures made within 60 days of an election and does not have to report its sources of income to the state or any other financial activity.
In mid-July, Fair Wisconsin Federal PAC first reported spending in the Wisconsin fall elections, with about $46,200 for online advertising and mailing costs to support two candidates in the August 11th Democratic primaries, Jordan Roman who is challenging the incumbent in the 12th Assembly, and Dina Nina Martinez-Rutherford who is in a five-way race to fill the open 76th Assembly. The winner of the former primary will be unopposed in the November 3rd election, while the winner of the latter faces Republican opposition in the heavily Democratic Madison district.

This organization is an unregistered independent expenditure committee that is required to report any such spending done within 60 days of a primary or an election to the Wisconsin Ethics Commission per Chapter 11, Subchapter X of Wisconsin Statutes.
