Fall: OathSpending

This is a new unregistered independent expenditure committee state political action committee affiliated with a Berkeley, Calif.-based liberal group that supports Democrats for statewide offices around the country.

The committee sponsored online advertising in support of Democratic candidate for governor Tony Evers, who faces GOP Gov. Scott Walker in the Nov. 6 elections.

The group has not been involved in electioneering in Wisconsin since the 2011 recall elections when as a registered independent expenditure committee itspent about $135,000 in two state Senate recall races.  The organization was originally formed in 1998 to oppose the impeachment of then-President Bill Clinton.

This organization is an unregistered independent expenditure committee that is required to report any such spending done within 60 days of a primary or an election to the Wisconsin Ethics Commission per Chapter 11, Subchapter X of Wisconsin Statutes.
